Red Wings Injury Troubles Continue, Pistons Look To Win Sixth Straight

 Red Wings Defenseman Jonathon Ericcson has been knocked out for the next two weeks with a bone bruise and Doug Janik has been recalled from Grand Rapids to replace him. At this point the team might as well change their name to the Grand Rapids Griffins of Detroit, or the Detroit Red Griffins.

Here are the guys who spent most, if not all of last year and some of this year with the Griffins who are now on the Red Wings roster:

Derek Meech (Was a healthy scratch for the Wings most of last year but spent the majority of his career with the Wings in Grand Rapids)

Throw in guys like Drew Miller who was picked up off the waiver wire, Patrick Eaves who was given up on, and Brad May who's a veteran scrapper, and you've got quite a rag tag bunch out on the ice right now.

The fact that this team continues to find ways to win is really an example of the level of talent the wings have in their farm system, good coaching, and a great GM.

The Wings will be wearing these jerseys until Filppula, Franzen, Williams, Kronwall and Lilja return...
